Lauren was an exceptional special education teacher for our son and daughter at a public school in Colorado. Her enthusiasm, professionalism, and calm demeanor made a significant different in their education. Both of our children were on Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), and Lauren dedicated herself to ensuring that their IEP goals were met, excelling in both academic and social/emotional areas. Her teacheing appraoch was unique andtailored specifically to our children's needs, mnaking their experiences in the classroom truly engaging. They often came home excited, sharing stories about the wonderful days they had with her.
Moreover, Lauren went beyond her role as a teacher; she was a calue resource for us as parents. She provdied insights and strategies that helped us tackle daily challenges with out children. Even though Lauren is no longer their teacher, she contineus to reach out, genuinely inquiring about their well-being and offering her support whenever needed. Her lasting impact on our family is a testament to her dedication and caring nature.
In elementary school, Lauren played an integral role in the referral, identification, and service of my daughter's SLD in both reading and math. Through her compassion, empathy, and educational experience, Lauren was able to create a welcoming learning environment for my daughter in which she saw immediate progress and growth not only in her reading and math abilities, but also in her confidence and advocacy. Today, 8 years later, my daughter no longer qualifies for special education services, and I truly believe part of it is because she was put on an early path to success through Lauren's educational strategies and services.
